in 1975 by Harold Nix, Western Rib-Eye became renowned for
having one of the first and finest salad bars in the tri-state
area and for great cuts of beef, quickly making this western-motif
restaurant one of Evansville's top steakhouses.
In 1985, with the addition of sons Dan and
Dave, Western Rib-Eye added to its menu and underwent an extensive
renovation to a more contemporary decor.
Well into the second generation of the family
business, Dan and Dave expanded the restaurant’s name
to Western Rib-Eye & Ribs and are continuing the tradition
of excellence established by their father.
With combined experience in the food business
of over 70 years, the Nix family has gained a certain insight
into what customers expect. Outstanding food and excellent
service, along with our world-famous "Create Your Own"
salad bar, our Certified Angus Beef™ steaks, our meaty
baby back ribs and the rest of our expanded menu are qualities
now expected by customers frequenting this locally-owned Evansville
